Frequently Asked Questions: All our products

How do you guarantee the freshness of the meat during delivery?

Maison Allaert uses high-performance isothermal packaging combined with refrigerant gel blocks to ensure that the cold chain is kept strictly intact between 0°C and 4°C throughout the entire transport process until hand delivery to your home.

Are your meats fresh or have they been frozen?

All meats offered on our online butcher shop are prepared and cut to order and shipped ultra-fresh (never frozen), allowing you to cook them immediately or freeze them yourself for long-term storage.

Why do you vacuum-pack the meat?

Vacuum packing is the professional method par excellence which deprives the meat of oxygen to stop oxidation, which not only extends storage in the refrigerator (use-by date) but also continues the natural maturation process which tenderizes the fiber.

Where do the meats selected by Maison Allaert come from?

True to our heritage since 1978, we exclusively favour sustainable partnerships with traditional European farms and recognized terroirs, rigorously selected by our master butchers for their respect for animal welfare and the superior taste quality of their production.

Are the weights of the pieces of meat accurate as ordered?

Since artisanal butchering is a precise manual process and not an exact science, there may be a very slight variation in weight (approximately +/- 5%) on your piece of meat, but our butchers always strive to cut to your advantage so that you are satisfied.

What are the storage times for your meats in the refrigerator?

Thanks to our airtight vacuum packaging, the majority of our red meats (beef, lamb, pork) keep perfectly for 8 to 10 days in the refrigerator (0-4°C), while more fragile products such as poultry, offal or minced meat should be consumed within 2 to 3 days.
